Choosing the right social media platform for your business can be a bit of a challenge, don't you think? 🥵

I won't be shy to admit that it took me a while to figure it out for my own business.

I don't know if you know this, but I've noticed that a lot of business owners and marketers are often unaware that some of the platforms they call "social media" aren't actually social media platforms, but rather search engine platforms...

It's important not to confuse the two for being the same type of platform. They work completely differently!

Social media platforms are often closed platforms and search engine platforms are open platforms. (get the explanation on what that even means in the video below 🎬)

...SO, before you choose which "social media" platform is best for your business, make sure you know exactly what type of media platform it is.

So far so good, not a big deal, right!?

Now, rather than focusing solely on how many active users are on the platform, and what is the new hot trend, you want to take a good hard look at your brand and your company mission (also if you are a one-person-business like I am).

Ask yourself this: what good is a platform filled with billions of active users, if the users aren't your target market and the platform doesn't support your mission and vision?
